Yup, I open this blog back up with one of the crustiest old memes I know. But really, it’s pretty impressive that a supercomputer can actually beat some of the smartest former contestants at Jeopardy. I mean beating ME would be no big trick, but Ken Jennings is one smart cookie.
Don’t get too excited though – it’s going to be a while before you have a personal assistant like Watson in your pocket. It takes 90 32-core IBM Power 750 Express servers with a total of 16 terabytes of memory to get Watson to come up with Jeopardy questions for all those answers.
